Sidewalk Sale Coming

Tuesday, October 5th, 2010

This weekend is the time when the local retailers have a big sale to clear out their inventory of summer items and start restocking for the holidays and winter.  The town of Estes Park allows them to display their merchandise outside on the sidewalk, hence: Sidewalk Sale.  Some would call it the end of our tourist season, but those that know the area see this as the best time to visit Estes Park, Colorado and Rocky Mountain National Park.

So come on up! We have availability at The Appenzell Inn at very competitive rates, our pool is always warm, and Estes Park is still open to serve you.  So book your favorite Estes Park hotel today; The Appenzell Inn.

Thank you!

What’s Next?

Sunday, October 3rd, 2010

This week end has been extremely busy what with the fall colors, Elk watching, and beautiful weather which normally signals the end of the most popular tourist season.  So what’s next?  Do we just close up shop and wait for spring to arrive?  Hardly; there are still plenty of things to see and do in Estes Park, Colorado all through the fall and winter months, you just have to dress a bit warmer.

Trail Ridge road is still open through Rocky Mountain National Park offering some fantastic vistas, and even when the top portion is finally closed for the winter, you can still drive most of the way up from this side of the park.  The bears are going into hibernation but the Elk and deer will be observed all year.

Many trails are used all year and are certainly less crowded than they are through the summer.  Estes Park is always open for business with most shops and restaurants waiting to help you with whatever you need.

So don’t be sitting at home thinking you’ve missed your opportunity to visit your favorite Estes Park hotel for this season; we’re always in season.  We at The Appenzell Inn invite you to a wonderful opportunity to see the best that Colorado has to offer; a great place to experience and a great place to stay at very reasonable rates.  Give us a call or book on-line; The Appenzell Inn and Estes Park Lodging.

Someone Loves Us

Saturday, October 2nd, 2010

There’s a woman who lives in Florida who thinks we are really something special.  Whenever she comes out she tells us how much she loves us and The Appenzell Inn, hates to leave and can’t wait to come back.  Of course she’s our daughter but that wouldn’t have any effect on her opinion.

Actually, we have a lot of repeat guests who have found us to their liking,- and we like that.  It’s fun running a hotel where people are enjoying themselves and aren’t concerned about whether or not they’re being treated fairly.

When choosing an Estes Park hotel, give The Appenzell Inn your consideration; we think you’ll be glad you did.  Book a few nights and find out what makes Estes Park, Colorado and The Appenzell Inn a favorite Colorado destination.

A New Colorado?

Friday, October 1st, 2010

Astronomers have found a new planet that is about the same size as Earth and lies within the habitable zone of it’s parent star.  Maybe it has a place that resembles Colorado and we can visit there in the near future.  Why not?

First of all this “New Colorado,” as I have just named it, is 20 light years away or about 400 traveling years at today’s speeds.

Secondly, you will weigh about 30% more at “New Colorado” because the planet is just a little bigger than Earth. (And if you’ve learned how to live 400 years longer)

Finally, the prices are outrageous with travel costs greater than the US GDP.  And if the latest observations are correct, it looks like the hotel situation is not good.  We’ve detected a lot of No Vacancy signs and the posted rates are out-of-sight,- out-of-sight, get it?

Seeing as how a trip to “New Colorado” is probably beyond your means, you’ll just have to settle for the old Colorado and especially Estes Park, which we’ve all learned to love.  So book a stay at your favorite Estes Park hotel and surround yourself with the grandeur of Rocky Mountain National Park and the best of what Colorado has to offer.  Book a stay at The Appenzell Inn
