Top 10 Reasons to Visit Estes Park

Snowy Flattop

Cooler weather is definitely here, and yesterday brought us a heavy bank of clouds up against the western side of the mountains and spilling over toward Estes Park.  It’s hard to describe to people how it can be snowing in Rocky Mountain National Park, but here in Estes we will have blue skies and warmer temperatures.

Some of our guests, who were determined to get the most out of their trip, went hiking up the Flattop Mountain trail which starts at the Bear Lake trail-head in the park.  The trail takes you up above treeline with spectacular views and the possibility of spotting a Ptarmigan or Pika.  It’s also possible to experience some foul weather and yesterday it was snow squalls which our guests thought was just great.  Our kind of people; those who can enjoy nature in whatever form it takes on the day they are here.

So don’t be fretting about what the weather is going to be like on the day you want to visit your favorite Estes Park hotel.  It’s the same as what they say about a bad day fishing being better than a good day at work.  We have never experienced a bad day at The Appenzell Inn; not that the weather has been perfect, but just the fact that we are here in these beautiful surroundings with the best that Colorado has to offer just outside our windows.

So come on up to Estes park, Colorado and The Appenzell Inn where we never have a bad day.
