Top 10 Reasons to Visit Estes Park

Mule Deer are Stealthy

Yesterday I walked up to our apartment door at The Appenzell Inn and when I looked into the trees to the side, there were six unblinking eyes looking back at me.  Those pesky Mule Deer had gotten past me again.

Mule Deer are common in Colorado and while not as numerose as Elk in this part of the state, they do about as much damage to our landscaping.  The Appenzell Inn has a 6 foot cedar fence around the entire property and a gate at the road, but when we leave the gate open during the day, they just walk right in like they had reservations.  I get a lot of exercise escorting them out the front gate.

Most people come to Estes Park, Colorado and Rocky Mountain National Park to see the wildlife and the natural beauty of the area, so we really don’t want to harass the deer, just try to get them to eat somebody elses spen trees.

Speaking of deer, the holidays are here and we still have a few rooms available for the Catch the Glow Parade in Estes Park this Friday so give us a call or book on-line,-today.  Thank you for considering our special Estes Park hotel.
